Youth Alpha 2016 -17

After another successful year of running Youth Alpha, we have decided to run it again! This year, our numbers have nearly tripled in size with over 120 young people getting involved in the programme. There are three centres facilitating the Youth Alpha programme; Living Youth, De La Salle College and the Parish of Glenavy and Killead. Living Youth have recruited pupils from St. Dominic’s Grammar school, Dominican College, Fortwilliam, St. Malachy’s College, Belfast, Little Flower Girl’s School, St. Louise’s Comprehensive College and Our Lady and Saint Patrick’s College, Knock. The Youth Alpha programme has four main ingredients: Food, Talk, Conversation and Fun.

The 12 interactive sessions give young people the chance to freely explore the basics of the Christian faith and decide what it means in their lives.  In February, we will be bringing all the groups together for a weekend residential in Corrymeela and this will conclude the programme. On residential, young people have the opportunity to discuss, explore and develop their faith, to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to plan the next steps on the journey they have begun with us on the Youth Alpha Programme.
