Pope John Paul II Award Workshop Day
Congratulations to fifty young people from across the Diocese who completed their John Paul II Award by attending a workshop day on Saturday 25th January. The programme was designed to provide the participants with an opportunity to reflect upon their Parish Involvement and Social Awareness activities which they have undertaken over the last eighteen months. =
The young people took part in a number of engaging and interactive sessions during the day. The areas focused upon included the meaning of Baptism, the teachings of Christ, the place and value of young people in the Church and a personal reflection on their own contribution. It also allowed those participating in the Award from various parts of the Diocese to meet up and share their experiences.
The day concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop Donal McKeown.
It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic and gifted young people who have made such a difference to the local Parishes and communities who truly bring to life the instruction of Jesus, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”. (Matthew 5:16)
